Manufacturing Technician - Crystal Growing - Springfield, Ohio

Essential Function:
Grow crystals as part of a quality production group and verify the product meets all customer requirements. This position requires the use of effective technical mathematics and measurement tools in the performance of tasks. This position is a significant component of the company Quality System.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assists Crystal Growing Engineer in compiling data and other information and summarizing activitiesRead and interpret assembly drawings and work instructions to determine proper procedure for growing crystalsApply knowledge of specification criteria in performing crystal growing functionsOperate crystal puller to required specificationsInspect each finished part for defectsEnter quality data into ERP systemComplete associated paperwork timely and accuratelyEnsure cleanliness and order of growing stationsPerform cleaning tasks at required intervalsEnsure equipment is in proper working orderPerform minor maintenance and preventative maintenance on department equipmentProcess silicon for remeltingTroubleshoot using knowledge and toolsOperate aerial/mobile liftsOperate overhead crane to move cast ingots and hotzone tools and partsTrain and/or operate equipment in DP Cell value streamFollow all company safety policies and report any unsafe conditions to Manufacturing Manager, EHS Manager, and/ or Director of ManufacturingAssist in applying lean manufacturing concepts and 5SPerform tasks/duties related to special projects or assignmentsPerform other duties as assigned by department management
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. High School diploma or general education degree (GED)At least 2 years of prior crystal growing experienceAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule formAbility to assess drawings, and specifications for assembling parts and inspect for proper fitAbility to communicate effectively with contractors, vendors or employees of the organizationAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volumeAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization existsMust be able to obtain sufficient task success to establish credibility with management, staff and employeesMust be able to work effectively individually and in a team environmentMust be able to pay close attention to detailsMust be able to perform successfully under minimum supervision Category: Manufacturing , Keywords: Manufacturing Technician
