The Inspector, as part of Cobham's Quality Assurance Groupin San Jose, CA, is responsible for incoming mechanical and piecepart inspection for MIL-STD-38534 microwave hybrid circuits. The position requires working closely with Production, Engineering,and Purchasing, with a focus on incoming inspection. Theability to readily interpret mechanical drawings, along with anunderstanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing per ASMEY14.5 is required for this position. Previous machiningexperience is a plus. You will be working with an inspectionteam whose purpose is preventing defective materials and parts frombeing used in manufacturing.

Follow inspection plan documents to verify acceptance orrejection of parts and materialsInterpret Documents and Drawings per ASME Y14.5 for inspectionrequirementsUse touch probe and visual CMM's, and other mechanicalinspection tools to measure machined & plated parts withcomplex geometries and fine tolerancesPerform first article inspection on machined & platedparts per AS9102Evaluate test or analysis data against specifications todetermine acceptanceInterpret workmanship standards and identify visual defectsand anomaliesPerform various types of data entry as part of productacceptance completion or job trackingMaintain accurate & detailed inspection recordsCommunicate effectively with supervision and internalcustomers in person, on the phone, and through emailProactively address and resolve issuesMinimum Requirements:
A college certificate or AS degree in a technical field, preferably in Manufacturing & CNC Technology (MCNC) or Machine Tool Technology (MTT)
inclusive of Geometric Design & Tolerancing (GD&T) 3+ years' experience with mechanical inspection inclusive of CMM programming Experience performing and reporting first article inspections
Experiencewith low & high power microscope inspection, basic dimensional inspection tools: drop gages, plug & block gages, calipers, vernier
micrometers. Additional Requirements: Strong written and verbal communication skillsDetail-oriented mind-set Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)US Citizenship and the ability to obtain & maintain a USDoD Security ClearanceBe able to work OT as needed Desired Experience/Certifications:
Programming experience with DMIS, OpenDMIS, PCDMIS, orCMM-ManagerCNC Machine operating/programming experienceExperience inspecting chassis and housings used forelectronic or microwave assemblies in aerospace applicationsSecurity:
