Under the supervision of the Director of Accounting, responsible for all of the finance aspects of PMC and related entities and subsidiaries.
Maintains financial records and reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Analyzes financial performance and recommends adjustments as needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Performs assigned responsibilities relating to the monthly financial close and ensures that all reports are completed timely and accurately.*2.
Manages and monitors the Treasury functions of PMC and related entities.
Prepare all transfers throughout the month, set up operational templates as needed.*3.
Prepare monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations; analyze accounts and variances as required.
Prepare and/or update accounting schedules related to month end close.*4.
Maintains expertise in accounting principles and acts as a resource for junior accountants.*5.
Coordinates activities related to external parties such as auditors, state and federal agencies, consultants/contractors, and fiscal intermediaries.*6.
Maintains close working relationship with the Business Office to ensure that patient accounting activities are properly reflected in the general ledger.*7.
Assists in the preparation of the annual capital and operating budgets, external audit, and third party report filings.
* 8. Identifies capital items not tagged by Materials Management and assists departments in identification of assets for annual fixed inventory.*9.
Ensures the hospital is compliant with the State of Florida s Unclaimed property rules and regulations, filing and maintaining all reports.*10.
Knows fire, disaster, and safety procedures and regulations as pertains to the work area.11.
Performs similar or related duties as assigned.
Formal Education: Bachelor s Degree required.
Business Administration or related.Work Experience: 3 years to Independent judgment is required to set objectives, coordinate activities within a work unit, or to complete a project.
Actions taken may be based on similar situations encountered in the past.Problem Solving: Problem solving involves identification and analysis of diverse problems.
Solutions are usually found by reviewing compliance manuals or administrative procedures and applying them for unusual situations.
Guidance may be provided on what sources to review and solutions are reviewed before acceptance.Responsibility for Directing Others: Responsible for making recommendations within one department in the areas of compensation, employee selection, disciplinary action, complaints, employee performance appraisal, and similar supervisory duties.
Plans, assigns, and evaluates the work of subordinates for effective operations and results of the unit.Planning Level: One to Three Months: Plan events that are expected to occur in the next one to three months or on a quarterly basis.Internal Contacts: Requires regular contacts to discuss issues of moderate importance and to respond to inquiries.
Also requires ongoing contacts with officials at higher levels on matters requiring cooperation, explanation, and persuasion.External Contacts: Requires regular external contacts to discuss issues of moderate importance and to respond to inquiries.
Occasionally requires personal contact with the public involving matters requiring cooperation, explanation, and persuasion.
Job-Related Knowledge: Professional Skills: Skill levels require the employee to apply knowledge to practical issues and allows for development of new methods and procedures.
Requires knowledge of theories and practices of a recognized professional field (e.g.
nursing, fiscal, quality assurance, information support, etc.)
This level of knowledge may be reserved for a position that requires a number of years of on-the-job experience (e.g.
entry level management).
