Performs a wide variety of professional Quality Assurance (QA)Engineering technical work which requires extensive application ofQuality Assurance Engineering principles and concepts in support ofthe Divisional QA functions.
Performs professional technical assignments requiring the fulluse and wide application of established Quality Engineeringprinciples, theories and concepts. Identifies and prepares QA requirements for major proposals byreviewing requests for proposals (RFQs) and other customerproposal documents. Establishes an effective interface with theProposal Team to provide a cost effective QA Program that meetsthe customer needs and contributes towards a successful contractaward. Directs the development of Quality Assurance Program Plans andcontract review. Determines and clarifies interpretations ofcontractual Quality requirements and bid strategy anddisseminates to QA functional groups involved with the program.Represents QA management in design reviews and ConfigurationControl Board activities by reviewing and approving the releaseof all Engineering documentation for Prototype and Productionphases. Considers and approves subsequent changes when deemednecessary and appropriate. Monitors budgets and initiatescorrective action where required. Composes QA technical/management section of proposal. Analyzeseach QA bid for adequacy. Evaluates the capability of major subcontractors andsuppliers, and works, in conjunction with Program, Engineering,Procurement and Subcontract personnel to maintain continuity inthe delivery of products that meet Engineering and Productionneeds in time phase plan. Establishes effective interface with customers and theirrepresentatives. Participates in Customer Program Reviews,discussions and presentations. Demonstrates capability to meetcustomer needs and assures customer that Quality interests aremaintained. Resolves contract interpretations early into theProgram. Conducts in depth review of Engineering and Reliabilityfailure analysis by full usage and wide application ofestablished Quality Engineering principles, theories andconcepts to influence new designs with respect to quality andproducibility requirements. Implements and assesses correctiveaction of internal and/or supplier caused quality problems. Maintains professional and technical proficiency by attendingselected seminars and taking selected technical courses to keepabreast of new technology, materials, processes and measuringequipment. Determines and acquires equipment necessary tosupport inspection production process. Assists and provides guidance to Engineering in thedevelopment of test plans, test procedures and other technicaldata items through application of knowledge of in-housecapabilities. Validates and approves acceptance test proceduresand verifies factory test equipment (FTE) compatibility. Coordinates and directs the work efforts of lower level QAEngineers to ensure progress is achieved against specific plans.Evaluates route cards, process sheets and establishes numerousinspection requirements by evaluating and monitoring processcapabilities. Supports continuous improvement and In-plant QualityEvaluation (IQUE) activities and remains focal point forOperations and program teams. Reviews and approves suppliersacceptance and qualification test plans and procedures. Assistswith supplier evaluation and selection. Performs product acceptance and presents that product forcustomer acceptance. Monitors quality budgets and initiates corrective action whererequired. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required. QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or its equivalentand a minimum of eight (8) years of Quality Engineeringexperience with three (3) years of Manufacturing interfaceresponsibilities. Security:
