Collins Aerospace is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a cross-disciplinary team of Systems and Software Engineers in the development of Military Avionics focused Model Based Systems solutions. Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) is an exciting and evolving field that promises to advance the way avionics systems are developed and maintained. Revolutionary improvements to current engineering process, tools, and methods to drive dramatic increases in development efficiency in anticipation of continued growth in system size and complexity.
Customers desire substantial reductions in system fielding times, operational flexibility and technical superiority with rapidly composable heterogeneous systems, increased focus on efficient integration and verification.This role is responsible for leading and mentoring the MBSE development team through the entire development lifecycle. Success in this role is measured through exceptional program performance, continuous innovation, and the development of the team members.
The key abilities and attributes for this position are:

Creativity and alternative thinking to develop new or novel ideas to solve problems.
Experience with design, requirements capture, development, and integration of complex military avionics software systems
Experience with avionics development processes such as (ARP4754, ARP4761, DO-254, DO-178)
Experience with systems/software modeling languages (SysML, UML, AADL, or equivalent)
Experience with visual modeling and design tools (Enterprise Architect or equivalent)
Experience with DoD open systems architecture and protocols (FACE, JCA, HOST, etc)
Software development experience with any high-level programming language a plus
Metrics generation and capture
US Citizen or Permanent Resident
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline.
Demonstrated ability to lead others
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience with successful avionics systems development programs is desired.
Experience managing scope, schedule, and budget for avionics development is also desired.
