Job Summary

This position is responsible for the technical screening of test equipment being acquired by
Collins Aerospace. The primary functions are to recommend, review and facilitate the purchase
of test equipment in accordance with preferred Collins test equipment and customer
requirements. Additionally this position will be tasked with researching new test equipment,
providing quotes to customers and procurement, and working directly with customers and
vendors to source the proper test equipment for the job. Will be the main point of contact for
external vendors representing test equipment companies and will help facilitate demonstrations
and training classes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to Engineering and Manufacturing for the sourcing of new
  • test equipment, equipment lease and rental, and test equipment pool requests.
  • Conducts technical analysis of product specifications to source both common off the
  • shelf equipment as well as specialty test equipment ensuring all the correct parameters
  • and options are included to meet company and customer needs.
  • Represents organization as a prime contact in test equipment vendor relations and
  • sourcing. Meets onsite with test equipment sales representatives and technical
  • professionals to build relationships and solve issues.
  • Works directly with procurement providing the technical assistance necessary to place
  • complex test equipment orders

Skills Required:

  • Complete understanding in the application of test equipment calibration, function,
  • usage, and specifications. Technical background involving test equipment is a must.
  • Full knowledge of calibration industry practices.
  • Technological expertise in the use and application of test equipment within an
  • engineering test environment. Understanding of calibration principals and industry
  • regulations governing Metrology.
  • Sourcing and procurement familiarity is highly desired
  • Government regulation experience is highly desired.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline or in the absence of a degree six years of
  • related experience
  • Complete understanding in the application of test equipment calibration, function,
  • usage, and specifications. Technical background involving test equipment is a must.
  • Full knowledge of calibration industry practices.
  • Technological expertise in the use and application of test equipment within an
  • engineering test environment. Understanding of calibration principals and industry
  • regulations governing Metrology
  • Candidate should have the ability to obtain DOD security clearance
  • US Citizenship Required
  • Position location is in Cedar Rapids
