SUNY Broome Community College is a comprehensive community college located in the scenic Southern Tier of New York, the college has approximately 10,000 students annually, and serves over 4,000 full-time and nearly 3,000 part-time students per semester in Liberal Arts, Business & Public Services, Health Sciences, and STEM, programs. An additional 10,000 students are served through the college's community education and non-credit programs.
SUNY Broome Community College seeks a full-time, 12 month, tenure-track, Instructional Designer to provide technical support to faculty who are creating courses and learning materials for traditional ground-based and distance education programs. Works closely and collaboratively, teaming with faculty, support staff, and colleagues of SUNY System Administration & other SUNY campuses, assisting faculty to design, develop, test, and support computer-mediated, asynchronous instructional materials/courses; conduct workshops, demonstrations, and individual training sessions for faculty; writes documentation and instructions to assist faculty in course development; tracks course development progress, monitors ongoing courses; and troubleshoots problems in technology and course delivery for courses using digital content. Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Minimum of two yearsexperience in instructional design, educational technology, distance learning, college teaching or a directly related field is required. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of learning management systems and software applications; the ability to provide support and troubleshooting for PC software problems; experience with training, staff development, and/or teaching; excellent written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
