Responsible for the daily operation of the Mounting / Service Center, including customer interaction, quoting mounting, service and up fit sales, parts sales, supervising location associates including technicians and/or mechanics, problem resolution and location profitability. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop specific location plans, in conjunction with regional sales managers:For prospecting new accounts.For following up on existing and inactive customers. Establishing goals for soliciting business by phone, in person and by mail.Direct and monitor the quotation of potential orders, including estimating labor and material costs.Oversee the origination of all shop work orders.Negotiate special labor rates on large deals as needed. Maintain company targets for operating ratio and income per hour.Review shop backlog and installation schedules.Advise customers of problems or delays. Ensure that labor and material costs on completed work orders properly reflect work performed.Maintain the quality and quantity of work. Establish a system to survey customer opinion and service needs.Investigate any product or service complaints. Develop a list of all local competitors, including identifying their strengths, weaknesses, selling rates, number of personnel, customers, etc.Review budget control sheets. Maintain Company goals for expense hours, rework, and work in process.Assist with preparation of budgets or forecasts.Ensure proper recovery of scrap, of scrap income, and miscellaneous supplies expense.Investigate and research new products or services that improve efficiency, reduce costs, or enhance customer satisfaction.Ensure compliance with Company Safety and Environmental Protection directives, OSHA and other Federal and local agencies. Conduct building and shop inspections. Complete the checklist and correct defects as necessary.Conduct safety meetings and process reports for accidents or injuries.Establish high standards for housekeeping in the shop and yard areas.Perform periodic inspections to ensure compliance. Develop program to maintain condition and appearance of all service vehicles.Inspect, care for, and preserve inventory and equipment.Direct the hiring, supervising, evaluating, and training of mechanics and other service personnel.Set performance standards for tasks, jobs and roles of employees.Provide ongoing feedback and support.Ensure conformance to personnel policies and other internal regulations.Schedule vacations, maintain attendance records and conduct performance reviews for service personnel.Other duties as assigned by Supervisor. Qualifications/Knowledge:
Prior management of a service department preferredKnowledge of welding and mechanical principlesPrior P & L responsibility preferredPrior sales experience preferred Equal opportunity employer.
