Analysis Engineer-Airflow &Combustion, Pontiac, MI, General Motors. Research &perform CFD simul about fluid flow, heat transfer &combustion in IC engines & components. Perform &execute CFD analyses for engine components such as manifolds, ports, domes, pistons, fuel injection systems, &combustion chambers (diesel &gasoline). Conduct CFD analyses to assess &/or modify flow characteristics of components to meet design reqmts in support of product engrg programs. Build &exercise analytical models for in-cylinder combustion anlys using 3D CFD codes such as Star-CCM+, Star-CD, ESICE, Converge, AVL-Fire, Fluent > Power. Correlate CFD simul results to dyno test &present CFD results to cross functional teams. Provide component-level &system-level design recommendations to DREs based on interpretation of anlys results. Perform in-cylinder spray &mixture preparation anlys to provide design &calibration recommendations for production team &reduce design iterations. Perform in-cylinder combustion anlys to predict flame propagation &combustion symmetry &provide results to production team to help evaluate engine combustion stability. Master, Mechanical or Aerospace Engrg. 12 mos exp as Engr or Grad. Research Assist, performing &executing CFD analyses for engine components such as ports, domes, pistons, fuel injection systems, &combustion chambers (diesel &gasoline).
