Job Summary:

The Business Controls team in Alternative Investment Solutions (AIS) at State Street is seeking a Project Manager to execute initiatives related to management of third party (vendor) risk.
The AIS Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) Project Manager will work under the direction of Program Leadership and AIS management - and in collaboration with designated Engagement Managers in the business - on varied initiatives to identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate the risk associated with external parties providing services in support of business processes.

Initiatives may include but are not limited to:
  • Centralized collection and reporting of responses to specific threats or risks identified by Corporate Information Security (CIS) or State Street Third Party Risk Management.
  • Validation of metadata in the Archer system to ensure accurate and aligned capture, update, and management of issues, contacts, services, assessment results, timing, and other vendor management requirements.
  • Tracking and documentation of vendor performance monitoring in line with assessed risk and corporate requirements.
  • Analysis and support to identify new issues and progress remediation of known issues.
  • Preparation and update of reporting for the Business Control Executive (BCE), AIS Risk Committee (ARC), and senior management.
  • Additional projects and analysis in support of Technology Risk Management areas, as needed.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working both independently and in collaboration with others; will exhibit flexibility with regard to changing priorities, differing deliverables, and management of new risks; and will work with a bias toward action, customer service, and corporate alignment.


  • Establish and manage updates to project plans to progress initiatives.
  • Complete analysis on processes, technologies, and data to identify issues and opportunities for (LEAN) improvement.
  • Create communications, training, websites, procedures, and other documentation deliverables to provide awareness and education.
  • Prepare status updates and other reporting in support of management requirements.
  • Other activities, as needed, to facilitate continued alignment with corporate TPRM.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of experience with project management or equivalent work
  • 1-2 years of experience in the financial services industry
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deliverables, timelines, standards
  • Basic proficiency with Excel, SharePoint/Collaborate, PowerPoint, and/or Word
  • Knowledge of Archer desirable, but not specifically required
  • Appetite to learn new skills, processes, regulatory expectations, vendor mgt best practices
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Business, or related discipline (or equivalent industry experience)
