Job purpose: The Electronic Resources Content Manager manages the electronic resource collection (eResources) and databases licensed from third-party vendors in the Integrated Library Systems (ILS). They govern access to content via Link-Resolver technologies and configure, troubleshoot and maintain the Integrated Library Systems, including the library catalog and related systems and interfaces. The Content Manager will also deliver value added knowledge through automated systems that synthesize scientific, business, and intellectual information to Novartis customers. Key Responsibilities : Managing all Novartis Knowledge Centre (NKC) Content Management activities including:- • Cataloguing of new eResources, keep existing content up2date • Ensure compliance with the latest international cataloguing standards - MARC 21 • Copy Cataloguing - synchronize the Novartis collection of eJournals, eBooks, lit. Databases, market reports, standards and other digital objects with the ILS providers Central Knowledge Base (CKB) • Update content (bibliographic-, holding-, portfolio-content, etc.) to the Novartis specific needs • Enrich content with services like JournalTOCs (RSS feed url enrichment from JournalTOCs initiative) • Gather content requirements and enhance content data model accordingly • Classification of eResources. • Play a central role with authority in the definition of new classification schemes for eResources and as new needs emerge update existing schemes • Lead automation efforts for content synchronization (keywords, subject-headings synchronization with NLM and LoC) • Link-Resolver support, Knowledge Base (KB) maintenance:- Monitor weekly KB updates run by ILS provider, check output • Troubleshooting of Link-Resolver linking problems • Keep PayPerView content for NKC Document Delivery services up to date • Regular screening of the major Open Access platforms for new Open Access eResources. • Selection of relevant resources and adding them to the NKC platforms Competencies • Collaborate with internal NKC staff to determine scope, goals and objectives for con-tent integration and quality enhancements • Provide content specific expertise for the planning, definition of requirements and delivery of new services • Identify trends, monitor provider road map, responsible for change management About the Novartis Global Service Centre in Dublin: The Novartis Global Service Center (NGSC), Dublin, was set up in 2013 and is located in a state-of-the-art facility on the Merrion Road in Ballsbridge.
