Responsibilities and tasks You are the owner of the Quality function within the group: you drive strategy and oversee implementation. You will define a well-considered strategy for the quality department and ensure the quality mindset within the group. You will schedule regular quality meetings. You will focus principally on Customer Quality and Quality Systems. You manage the relationship between quality (systems) and customer quality. Client satisfaction is the main priority. Together with the quality coordinators in the local European and non-European branches you play an active role in the development, certification, implementation, maintenance and improvement of the quality systems. You are a challenger and sparring partner for local Plant Managers. You make sure the systems are alive within the organization; you develop, champion, track and analyse key performance and quality indicators/metrics. You act on observations and trends. You will oversee internal and support external system audits. You report on audit status, follow up on corrective actions and you keep the quality handbook up-to-date. You contact and meet with suppliers and customers regarding quality issues. Rejections and complaints are investigated. The cause of non-conforming quality is determined, corrective actions are initiated. You provide support during the set-up of new branches and to the implementation of new business. You train (new) people into the systems and bring them to the next level. You report directly to the CEO and work closely together with your colleagues in the management team and the local Plant Managers. Your skills You have a Master's degree (Commercial Engineering, Engineering, Business Administration) in combination with a proven expertise in Quality. You have an experience of at least 10 years within an international matrix organization in the automotive sector. You are able to lead, steer, influence and coach at the same time. You are an inspiring leader, a driver for innovation, a creative and conceptual out-of-the-box thinker. You are able to communicate on all levels and dare to take decisions if necessary. You are self-driven and able to work autonomously. You have a European working permit and are willing to relocate to the Brussels region. You are fluent in English. Knowledge of other languages is a strong asset. You are ready to travel around 50% of your time, for short business trips mainly in Europe.
