Day Program Activity Specialist

Provides assistance to consumers with developmental disabilities participating in a recreation-oriented Day Program. The Day Array Support Activities Specialist should embrace the JFSA philosophy and mission: to foster a sense of belonging, nurture informed choices, support self-determination, and create an environment of empowerment for the consumers we serve.
Currently we have two open shifts: Monday - Friday 7:30 am-11:30 am and 11:30 am -3:30 pm.

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Six to 12 months of relevant direct care experience. Including social recreation preferred.
Ensures all essential training requirements are completed, ie, annual training, CPR/First Aid, certified medication passing, etc.
Maintain both a valid Ohio Drivers License, and a driving record that meets JFSA's insurance company standards. Will need to be able to drive a van and extensive driving will be required.
Maintain personal auto liability insurance at the level that the Agency and the insurance carrier requires.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong written and verbal communication, time-management and organizational skills .
Ability to creatively identify consumer activities and to implement those activities, manage stressful situations, prioritize, work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to be patient and understanding with consumers.
Ability to be a team-player or work independently.
The physical demands may require lifting and assisting consumers with wheelchair mobility; however, are otherwise minimal and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations.
