Direct Support Professional/DSP- Float

The Direct Support Professional - Float (DSP Float) provides assistance in daily living skills and management of medication to consumers in the Residential Services program. The position works various hours and schedules as directed by the Manager and/or schedulers and as assignments require. Work availability and flexibility is agreed upon at time of hire. Must be able to work a flexible schedule and be available to Schedulers to fill open shifts within 2-3 hours of a call-off. In addition, the position may fill-in on all shifts for Direct Support Professional staff who are on vacation, sick leave, or personal leave. Pay: $9.75 - $11.75 per hour

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Relevant direct care experience
Ensures all essential training requirements are completed, ie, annual training, CPR/First Aid, certified medication passing, etc.completed uppon hire
Maintain both a valid Ohio Drivers License, and a driving record that meets JFSA's insurance company standards (eg less than 2 incidents over a 3 year period)
Maintain personal auto liability insurance at the level that the Agency and the insurance carrier required.
Must have a reliable personal automobile available on a daily basis
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, time-management skills and organizational skills
Ability to manage stressful situations,prioritize, work on multiple tasks simultaneously, be patient and understanding with consumer, be a team-player, work independently, transfer and lift patients
The physical demands may require lifting and assisting consumers with wheelchair mobility; however, are otherwise minimal and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations.
