Job Summary

The Ambulatory Pharmacy Services Coordinator supports the vision of the Total Healing Environment and the values of respect, integrity, accountability, commitment and quality by providing direct patient care that optimizes the use of medication and promotes health, wellness and disease prevention, working in collaboration with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals. Implements and develops clinical operating practices and policies relevant to pharmacologic patient care and assists in the planning and implementation of new concepts in the provision of excellent patient monitoring, education and management in accordance with accepted standards of pharmacy practice. Serves as a preceptor for pharmacy residents for ambulatory care learning experiences.

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree degree or a B.S. Pharmacy degree with comparable clinical experience
  • Completion of a PGY-1 pharmacy residency and one year of pharmacy practice experience in ambulatory care setting preferred; or completion of a PGY-1 and PGY-2 pharmacy residency with six months of pharmacy practice experience, ambulatory care setting preferred; or three years of pharmacy practice experience, ambulatory care setting preferred
  • Current license to practice pharmacy in the state of Arizona
  • Board of Pharmacy Specialties certification with Ambulatory Care Pharmacy specialty area preferred
  • Must be current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Provider certified
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing providing excellent customer service
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and handle multiple priorities/tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff
  • Ability to exercise sound professional judgment
  • Acts as a role model; demonstrates preceptor skills and adheres to residency program and department policies
  • Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Windows
  • Basic proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience preferred; Cerner strongly preferred
