Position Statement:

To maintain the guestrooms, public space and back of the house areas in good repair to ensure an attractive and well-maintained property. These assignments relate to a variety of trades that include but are not limited to carpentry, plumbing, painting, drywall repair and texturing, wall covering, screen repair and masonry. What will I be doing?

As a Maintenance Technician I you would be responsible for executing your

position's responsibilities in alignment with our Spirit of Service culture and driving company success through performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Basic skills in drywall, painting/staining and wall vinyl repairs.
  • Basic plumbing skills including drain cleaning.
  • Maintain all guestroom and public space equipment (to include, but not limited to the following) change filters, replace caulk, tile/grout, door repair to include locking mechanisms and hinges.
  • Inspect rooms for pest intrusion.
  • Inspects and replaces cosmetic appliance components.
  • Replace light bulbs and ballasts, repair closet/drapery tracks.
  • Replacement of furniture, stain furniture and repair knicks and gouges
  • Replace remote control batteries
  • Unclog toilets and sinks, touch up paint and glue peeling wallpaper.
  • Execute planned scheduled preventative maintenance.
  • Replace faulty plumbing components.
  • Maintain proper functioning of all equipment and tools.
  • Establish a clear line of communication with the engineering leadership.
  • Assist other maintenance staff on special projects as directed by engineering leadership.

  • Detailed record keeping in English is required for logs and inspection sheets

Specific Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

  • This requires the individual to possess considerable knowledge of a wide variety of maintenance trades in order to visually inspect and detect items needing repair.
  • Skill in the use of related tools (including both hand and electric tools)
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Basic English language communication in order to communicate with co-workers and fully comprehend job assignments.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping and kneeling. Ability to push and pull objects or materials weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders, working at heights up to approximately 40 feet, for extended periods of time, with the ability to reach often times overhead.
  • Ability to grasp, lift or carry items weighing up to 50 lbs., occasionally waist high.
  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established and revised by HGVC form time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
Supportive Functions:
  • Maintain inventory of supplies need to perform job function
  • Report all deficiencies and items that cannot be readily repaired to Supervisor.
  • Due to the cyclic nature of the business the individual may be required to do other duties and special projects as assigned by Leadership.
