Randstad Engineering are currently looking for a Maintenance Fitter for our major UK based materials manufacture based near Ashbourne.
As a Maintenance Fitter reporting to our Maintenance Supervisor, you'll be responsible for safely and efficiently carrying out planned and unplanned maintenance and repairs to the site and equipment.
Contributing to the development of safe working methods for repair procedures, you'll also provide a timely response to plant breakdowns whilst maintaining a high standard of housekeeping by keeping areas clean, tidy and hazard-free. Liaising with site management on a regular basis, you'll support and train operatives to complete maintenance tasks, in addition to carrying out daily plant and other inspections and completing documentation. Other key responsibilities include:
- Respond to unplanned repairs and other requirements
- Respond to plant breakdowns - ensuring it is returned to production in a timely manner, and temporary fixes are followed up with a permanent solution.
- Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping keeping areas clean, tidy and hazard free
- Deal with all daily issues professionally and liaise with site management on a regular basis
- Support and train operatives to complete maintenance tasks
An experienced fitter, also skilled in welding, cutting and fabricating techniques, you'll need an NVQ3 technical qualification or equivalent, together with excellent communication and team-working skills. Highly motivated, with drive and enthusiasm, you're able to plan and implement maintenance schedules and have a good working knowledge of engineering drawings. Together with a good understanding of Health & Safety.
