£14.53 per hour on a permanent basis, plus pension, overtime available and 25 days holiday
This organisation is a multi-product engineering specialist offering a wide range of engineering components and technical services to all areas of industry. They work in multiple sectors, including food processing, FMCG, Automotive and pharmaceutical.
Your background as Electro - Mechanical Engineer
Ideally you will have spent considerable time in an Electric Motor Repair/Service business, either as a Workshop Fitter or as a Site Engineer, time-served through an apprenticeship. You will have experience conducting service or remedial work on Electric Motors, Pumps, Fans, Blowers, Gearboxes, AHU's or any similar related types of equipment. If not an Electric motor facility, you will alternatively have gained your experience in an environment focused on the repair & service of other similar industrial equipment.
You will be comfortable with all things mechanical as well as competent to independently (without direct supervision), be able to strip, assess, fault find, repair and re-assemble an array of different equipment. You should also have some level of experience dealing with the electrical side of such equipment, typically with knowledge of how to test windings or other electrical systems for continuity and/or to conduct operational testing as well as how to carry out safe electrical isolation/lockout.
Cleaning and stripping down electro-mechanical equipment (motors, pumps, fans, blowers, gearboxes, AHU's, etc)
Inspecting, testing, assessing and defining the work and parts needed.
Carrying out the service/remedial work and then re-assembling same equipment, final testing, painting and preparing for delivery.
Removing, installing or servicing equipment at customer sites.
Reacting to breakdown call-outs.
Compliance with and adherence to all H&S, Quality & Environmental policies and procedures.
Any other related activity as required by Management.
Significant demonstrable workshop based Electro-Mechanical (or just mechanical) fitting experience.
Similar levels of experience with Site Service activities on the same range/s of equipment.
Have strong belief and confidence in your own abilities to identify the issue/s in front of you and decide on the required course of corrective action.
Able to be effective when working individually or within a team.
Able to work overtime as and when required..
Able to participate in a call-out rota (typically 1 week every 5 weeks).
Strong Verbal & Written skills.
Functional and conversational English capability.
Basic computer literacy.
Full understanding of current H&S requirements.
Full Drivers Licence (as accepted by UK DVLA).
Formal right to Live & Work in the UK.
A valid passport.
Winding ability (LV, DC or HV motors).
Machining experience (lathes, milling machines).
Dynamic balancing experience (ie, Schenk equipment).
Laser alignment experience.
16 th /17 th /18 th Edition certification.
Forklift Driver certification.
Working at Heights certification.
Confined space certification.
CCNSG, IOSH Certification.
