A dynamic spin-out from a world leading Cambridgeshire technology company has a new opportunity for a versatile and multi-talented Physicist / Mechanical Engineer / CFD specialist. Working as a Technology Development Engineer, you will be deeply involved in the hands-on design of this next - generation fluid-based instrumentation device. You will help take the system from concept generation, pre-prototype CFD analysis & modelling, prototype build and testing right through to initial batch production. This is the perfect opportunity for a highly inventive Physicist, Mechanical Engineer or Fluid Dynamicist to join a company dedicated to innovation in a role providing variety and many new challenges.

Requirements - Physicist / Mechanical Engineer / Technology Development Engineer:

A PhD, A Master's degree (MEng / MSc) or a Bachelor`s degree (BEng/BSc) 2.1 or above in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Dynamics or similar discipline

A good understanding of engineering from basic physical principals

Strong record of experimental problem-solving skills and excellent level of creativity

Excellent written and communication skills

Experience working in acoustics or fluidics fields

Ideally, hands-on experience of micron- to mm-scale devices

Programming of off-the-shelf hardware to automate testing and/or data collection

Computational modelling (e.g. Comsol)

Ability to use 3D CAD (e.g. SolidWorks or similar)
