CMM Inspector - Huntingdon Area Salary Competitive Depending on experience

Our Client based in the Huntingdon area are currently looking to recruit a Chief Inspector / CMM Inspector.

Job Purpose:

To ensure high quality standards are maintained while supporting and managing a team of 3 inspectors. Set tasks and priorities to guarantee through put is achieved. Communicate at all levels and be customer facing on technical issues. Be self-motivated and professional in approach with a can-do attitude.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:


Fully conversant with PcDmis 2018 software and able to program and inspect complex components

Understand the requirements of production, assign staff /resources to achieve the customer delivery promises

Using customer drawings and 'statements of work', be able to create inspection plans and instructions

Taking ownership of commitments and effectively flow the requirements down to the inspection team

Manage in process inspection including timely first off and final inspections

Understand manual inspection techniques and where required be hands on

Have a good understanding of the CMM inspection process, be able to talk through set ups and inspection techniques with customer and inspection team

Good understanding of AS9102 F.A.I.R. activities

Train /develop both new and existing staff and monitor to confirm progress

Release signatory for quality sign off

Knowledge of compliance to ISO9001 and AS9100 quality standards

Report inspection KPI's

Continuous development of departmental operations

Lead external Quality audits/visits

Key Responsibilities

Lead the preparation and completion of quality documentation

Responsible for inspecting incoming and outgoing product /materials

Creating robust inspection strategies

Producing clear and accurate instructions for inspectors

Supporting inspection requirements including creating design guidelines

Managing all documentation in the department

Ensure that quality is maintained to specific requirements

To ensure all inspection equipment is maintained in accordance with requirements

Company Support

Support shop floor staff as required to ensure manufacture in compliance with design intent, and by the most efficient methods

Fully comply with Company Policies including Health and Safety at all timesRequirements:

o PcDmis 2018 experience

o Supplier-facing experience

o Ability to create inspection plans and instructions

o Aerospace and defence experience

o Ability to read and understand technical drawings

o Hands-on composite experience

o Process improvement skills

o Programme management experience
