The successful Service Engineer will be responsible for:
Configuration, maintenance and service of systems
Provide hardware support on site, including preventative and corrective maintenance, spares management, including out of hours support
Provide application support to customers, on site and by remote link
Provide high level field and in house technical support, including out of hours support
Fulfils maintenance and contract obligations
Promotes products and services in conjunction with Sales and Account Managers
You must be flexible as you will need to be on an ‘on call’ basis to advise customers out of hours and, if necessary, make unscheduled site visits. You must also be able to clean, calibrate and service control systems – any manufacturer knowledge is considered and we can accept Service Engineer’s with ability of either PLC, SCADA or DCS systems. Full product training will be provided.
It is ESSENTIAL you possess an intimate knowledge of Quality Control Systems (QCS), on-line measurement devices and MD CD controls to be considered for this post. There is a possibility to consider a skilled Instrument Technician with background of the paper industry and customer facing ability.
Duties will also include:
Deputise for management on site related activities
Prepare and deliver training courses on relevant areas of expertise
Commission equipment in the field
Advise clients as to maintenance procedures, evolution, site planning, operational methods, process measurement and control
Carry out feasibility studies on behalf of clients, recommend courses of action in order for client to overcome plant, quality and control problems
While you will need to be commutable to the North West office, you will spend c70% of your time providing service cover to sites from the North Midlands to the far North West, with occasional trips to Scotland and down to the South East. Small amounts of European travel is also required for training purposes only. Full UK driving license is essential for this role.
We are seeking Service Engineers who have a solid background of the paper industry. Although working with control systems, there is also a heavy mechanical element to this role, therefore solid ability with instrumentation, pneumatics and piping is also sought. Also essential is experience of industrial networking.
