Sales Development Representative
Posted on Jul 17, 2019 by CV-Library
Our client is definitely a little bit different (good different). Hopefully, so are you.
Based at ‘The Core’ in the centre of Newcastle, we’re building a world class SaaS business, solving the challenges for sales leaders and coaches – identifying and remedying mistakes and missed opportunities on sales conversations, whilst turning ‘good moments’ into ‘great’ by sharing best practice.
Whilst still early on in our journey, our sales coaching platform is making waves – our clients include VMWare, Three, and Neopost, amongst a host of technology, recruitment, call centre and sales coaching organisations.
It’s a great start but this is just the very beginning. We’ve done this before, building one of the region’s biggest SaaS businesses and learning lessons along the way (lots, we have the scars to prove it!). Our product is frigging awesome and getting better and better. Our market opportunity is massive (any inside sales team globally) and we have clients across the World.
We are not just blowing our own trumpet – 2 highly respected tech VC’s have backed us along with a host of successful business angels. But, as we may have already mentioned, we are at the very start.
This is a chance to join at an exciting period in our journey, to put a story on your CV that changes your life, but more importantly to be part of a team that live and breathe SaaS and Sales, committed to making the very most from this unbelievable opportunity. We don’t promise unlimited away days and free doughnuts, but we do promise the rewards, opportunities and recognition are limited only by talent and ambition.
If you want to join a start-up that isn’t just playing at this, that can change your life, and you have the right attributes (which are more important than experience) to thrive in such an environment, you may well be one of our people.
About The Role
Beyond the company bit above, there are three reasons why this is such a great role here.
Firstly – our audience are sales leaders. We spend our days reading their tweets, blogs and whitepapers, researching their best practices and then introducing the benefits of our product to them. They are unforgiving of shitty, lazy outreach but they love our highly researched, personalised approaches. They understand we are sales professionals – almost every day our prospects praise our approach and share it with their own teams as an example.
Secondly our product is all about sales coaching, and obviously we drink our own champagne, using the platform to help onboard, coach and develop our skills and success. Finally, you will have the benefit of working with a sales team that really get SaaS sales – who are well known in our sector, and are highly involved in delivering thought leadership to the market.
As part of our Lead Generation team, you’ll be able to identify (and be provided by our Research and Marketing teams) prospects to research in order to introduce where we can be valuable to their challenges, by phone, email and social channels, as well as managing inbound leads.
It’s really important that you are comfortable with the phone, it’s a business critical tool and we’ll help make it even more valuable. We don’t expect you to make 100 dials every day, that is not our style – this is highly personalised considered and researched. But you need to have a hunger to ‘get after it’, make things happen, and understand that success in this role stems from both quality AND activity.
The SDR role will provide a perfect launch pad to fast progression within the business, with a vision that if successful, can see you develop into a Business Development Manager within 12 months.
We are more interested in your skills, attributes and drive than your experience. Sure, tell us all about any roles or experiences that align to this one, but we want to find out about you more than your last role. We will want to hear about experiences – in or out of work, that demonstrate the skills and attributes that are important to success in this role.
We feel we can be picky – and whilst we know great people are seriously hard to find, if we choose you it’s because we believe in your ability to play a great role in our future – not just ‘do a decent job’.
Hopefully you feel you have the ingredients and drive to be hugely successful, your goals are probably bigger than your peers, and with the right coaching, support and development can achieve whatever you set your mind to.
Whilst we appreciate no one is great at everything, commitment, resilience, curiosity and coachability are all likely strengths of yours. You also have your reasons for wanting a career in sales – we don’t care why so much, but you’ll be passionate about sales as a career of choice for you.
What more is there to say? Obviously we offer a package of remuneration and commission (+ pension) to attract the best and 25 days holiday. We also provide a free subscription to Perkbox and quarterly off-site development days so you can build your skillset outside of the office. Our office is pretty cool too (hello Playstation and Pool table).
Our interview won’t be the easiest – we’ll use our tech to assess some of your core skills, but we will certainly be able to share some of the excitement around our journey and this opportunity
