Headquartered in Edinburgh, ESS’ client is a fast-growing and highly-ambitious technology start-up business. Already generating significant revenue, they provide business transformation consultancy, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and other managed services to some of the world’s largest blue-chip technology players.
They are about to go through rapid growth as a business and expand their product and service offerings both in the UK and USA with leading global technology giants. To help facilitate this, they are making the key hire of a junior Project Manager.
Reporting into the Head of Projects, the Project Manager will help ensure the delivery of client facing tasks including roll out of software as a service product and follow up consultancy and delivery. Internally, you will provide a key link to the business, acting as the project manager and leader for internal software development programmes and ensuring these are completed on time and to budget. Other key responsibilities include:
Management of multiple work streams.
Deliver projects on time and to budget through robust, high quality management processes, covering risk mitigation and forecasting.
Monitoring, reporting and escalation of issues within projects with risk mitigation management and recovery plans in place to minimise any affects.
Working closely with Head of Projects to ensure accurate timely forecasting and cost management, to effectively manage change and risks mitigation to minimise cost uplift.
Provides accurate weekly reporting on progress, risks encountered and/or forecasted, costs incurred to date, capturing WIP including Risk estimations and forecasted Cost to Complete to Head of Projects.
Manage the operational relationship with all Clients and Partners and have monitoring in place to ensure contractual KPI’s and transformation processes are adhered to and met.
Establish and maintain an effective relationship with key suppliers, internal departments and customers as necessary to deliver projects.
Establish, manage and weekly or as required report of project Highlights, Risks and Issues.
The relevant candidate is educated to degree level in a technical, scientific, business or computing/IT discipline. This will suit recent Project Managers, junior Project Managers and aspiring Project and Programme professionals form a range of sectors. Ideally, you have completed your APM qualifications and/or Prince2. In all cases, you are able to show project management skills in business transformation or change, moving businesses from Current Modes of Operations to Future Modes of Operations. We would also be keen to hear from recent MBA graduates who are angling after Project Management roles, leading into business consulting and cloud/digital systems transformation.
