Infrastructure Support Engineer - Darlington - £20-26k

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Infrastructure Support Engineer to join our Our core service is customer focused document management; this means we take on the goals and objectives of our customers to deliver digital mailroom and a range of document management functions. Our solutions are dependent on a high level of systems integration, desk top and VM products

The role is based in our Operations Centre in Darlington, supporting a large team across 3 sites providing support to our staff and customers on a range of Managed Services. This role covers monitoring and support for desktop, applications and Microsoft Server technologies.

Duties include:

Own and resolve incidents and problems efficiently and within agreed SLA's using a Service Desk system

*Understand the service infrastructure and carryout proactive work to maintain a high level of availability

*Identify skills gaps, process improvements and technical solutions that may enhance service delivery

*Produce and maintain accurate technical documentation for Internal Use and Ad Hoc Customer Guides

*Work with service transition teams to migrate new customers into live service

*Work closely with operational staff whilst retaining the ownership of Incidents and Requests.

*Update customers via a service desk ticket system

To be responsible for the Installation, configuration and maintenance of a variety of computer equipment including workstations, printers, laptops, servers, scanners and data communications equipment.

* To maintain data/telephony patching and manage any other telephony issues through to their resolution, working closely with the required Third Party companies

To be responsible for the network administration, such as Active Directory, users, groups, etc.

* To perform, where required, project activities and tasks. This can include Active Directory migrations, Application testing (e.g. McAfee, LanDesk etc) and hardware/software based projects.

* To maintain 3rd party relationships with IT Hardware and Software suppliers.

* To be responsible for hardware and software assets, including the management and tracking of these assets and their licenses. Key Skills:

Ability to prioritise work based on Business requirements.

Able to provide Out of Hours support

Full current driving licence

Willing to take on any other Ad hoc request

Management and Monitoring tools (Remote Management of Servers (i.e. RDP, SSH, iLO)

Understand the end to end processes of DNS, E-Mail Hosting, URL Filtering, User Management

Understanding of WAN technologies

Knowledge of at least some of following to a competent level; Windows Server 2008/2012/2016, Active Directory, SQL, , , Sharepoint, IIS and VMWare,
