Paraplanner (part-time) – £40,000 pro-rata – London, UK

The Role

Sterling & Law is looking for a capable and motivated part-time Paraplanner with the ability to work from home. You will be supporting the Financial Planner(s) in research and analysis to meet client needs and objectives; and in preparing client financial plans and suitability reports. You will be crucial in contributing to the smooth running of the paraplanning administrative function within the business.

The successful candidate will be a specialist and “go-to person” for a specific business area. This is an exciting opportunity to engage with an ambitious wealth management firm and share in their future success, with ample opportunities for personal and professional development.

The key responsibilities of a Paraplanner include, but are not limited to:

Preparing and compiling financial analysis data

Analysing client data and preparing cash flow forecasts

Researching products to support recommendations

Writing meeting minutes as and when required

Compiling financial planning recommendations and suitability reports to a high standard

Developing and maintaining internal relationships to help maintain business flow and meet agreed targets

Ensuring that any business conducted is done in a responsible and compliant manner, meeting all legislative requirements, both internally and externally

Assisting the Financial Planner(s) with Client presentations and any other activities as agreed

Assisting the Senior Paraplanner with annual technical reviews, due diligence of services and products

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Paraplanner:

Experience in using Intelligent Office and other financial planning software

Can work accurately within defined business processes, either independently or in a team; and achieve agreed outcomes without supervision

Able to multi-task, prioritise and plan own workload effectively

Can demonstrate strong analytical, IT and report writing skills, paying close attention to detail in every aspect of their work

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, able to convey information in an articulate and concise manner

A good knowledge of financial services, able to keep up to date with the latest developments
