Trainee Maintenance Engineer

Our client pride themselves on their quality of both product and process. Producing up to 60k products per day, their maintenance team are responsible for ensuring this hard-working equipment keeps performing. Due to consistent growth, they are now looking to take on a Maintenance Trainee/Operator to help with the running and maintenance of the lines.
This role would suit anybody who is looking to get into maintenance engineering but who is not yet qualified or, who has recently qualified and is looking for exposure within a manufacturing site to gain further experience. My client are offering training to the right candidates who prove themselves to be keen and willing to learn.
As a Trainee Maintenance Engineer you will:
Strip and re-assemble machinery each shift
Assist the team of Maintenance Engineers on breakdowns and PPM’s.
Work in the workshop in various projects welding and fabricating.
Work mechanically on components such as: bearings, chains, rollers, belts, sprockets and gearboxes.
Work electrically on components such as: motors, sensors, fuses and switches.
As a Trainee Maintenance Engineer you should have the following:
Previous experience working within an engineering environment.
Have the ability to mechanical strip and rebuild components.
A methodical mind set, with the ability to problem solve and adapt with short notice.
The ability to work within a proactive nature.
Have a passion for engineering.
It would be advantageous if you have the ability to weld and use machines such as lathes but it is not essential.
It would be advantageous if you held City & Guilds Engineering qualifications. However, my client would also accept time served engineers with no formal qualifications.
