The primary role of the Business Development Manager is to identify Small Medium Enterprise (SME) clients to sell umbrella and accountancy services and cross-selling various service lines by networking, cold calling, email campaigns or other means of generating interest and plan persuasive approaches and pitches that will convince potential clients to do business with the company.
Working to improve market position and achieve financial growth the Business Development Manager outlines long-term organisational strategic goals, builds key customer relationships, identifies business opportunities, negotiates and closes business deals and maintains extensive knowledge of current market conditions
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
1.Solely focusing on discovering and acquiring new business clients for the company by researching potential sectors and new clients by building strong customer relationships and brand reputation
2.You will plan persuasive approaches and pitches that will convince potential clients to do business with the company
3.Follow up on targeted marketing campaigns, book customer meetings for field representatives
4.Implement sales plans and deliver accurate forecasts
5.Work to agreed KPIs and targets ensuring targets are achieved
6.Possess a strong and resilient work ethic, together with great deal of persuasive negotiation skills whilst portraying an air of confidence
7.Work with the rest of the sales team to work as a combined sales function
8.Develop a detailed calling plan to identify potential businesses to engage with and sell giant service range, building a new business pipeline, identifying and closing new customers
9.Meet key performance indicators in terms of call volume to generate business for the company
10.Successfully cross-sell giant product range where possible
11.Organising and conducting sales pitches, product training and industry updates to new clients over the telephone
12.Communicate with colleagues in a positive, timely and effective manner
13.Understand and adhere to all appropriate legislation, codes of practice and internal control requirements, such as the Information Security and Quality Policies
14.Call availability - ensuring you are logged into the calling system and ready for calls at the start of your assigned shift or as requested by your Line Manager. You are not to be logged out of the calling system unless authorised by your Line Manager
15.Identify issues with current operating practice and suggesting ways to improve operating performance.
16.Develop new processes and practices to advocate a culture of continuous improvement
