JOB DESCRIPTION FOR: MACHINIST ENGINEER

LOCATION: OLDBURY

JOB TITLE: MACHINIST ENGINEER (Traditional skills)

SALARY: COMPETITIVE

HOURS: FULL TIME, Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm

They have acquired over 35 years of valuable experience in the engineering industry and their passionate team of staff have developed industry leading knowledge and expertise. When it comes to the manufacturing and supply of non-standard fasteners or custom fasteners, our client's level of capability and skill is very difficult to beat.

THE ROLE: Our client is seeking to appoint an experienced and traditionally skilled general Machinist Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled and have strong experience in setting and operating capstan lathes, manufacture of tools (high speed steel) and manual drilling and milling. Our client is looking for enthusiastic candidates who will be able to hit the ground running and take pride and interest in the work. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate.

Are you/Do you have:

Experience in production of threaded components including cutting and rolling

Extensive experience on capstan lathes and manual milling machines

Experience setting and operating Emi-mec lathes

Traditional machining skillset (CNC knowledge not required)

Excellent manual dexterity

Experience working in a fast-paced production environment producing tooling and components to high tolerances

Good technical knowledge and understanding of all areas of machining.

Strong working knowledge of tool room machines and processes

Comprehensive knowledge of geometric tolerances as related to tool and fixture designKey responsibilities of the role:

Set and operate capstan lathes to produce fasteners and components

Set and operate Emi-mec lathe
