Based in Farnborough, Hampshire, our client’s a leading independent UK-based IT company providing security solutions

and professional services to a wide variety of customers within the UK and Europe. They pride themselves on providing

world class consultancy, engineering and support services through focused customer engagement with a strong

emphasis on customer experience.

They are looking for an office-based Business Development Manager to join a vibrant team. This is a great

opportunity for someone with a flair for technology that has proven B2B sales experience. As part of the Sales Team,

and reporting to the Sales Manager, the key objective and overall responsibility is to promote solutions and

services to both Channel Partners and “New Logo” businesses across different sectors and verticals. Integral to this

is the requirement to build strong and long-term working partnerships. You will become the ‘face’ of our client,

creating your own personal brand with both prospects, vendors and partners. Communication with senior level management is a key part as is a keen commercial awareness.

You will have strong interpersonal skills with a brand ambassador mind-set that exudes gravitas and inspires

confidence in face-to-face engagements. Self-motivated and driven, you are able to channel your high energy

levels into a positive “can-do” approach allowing you to repeatedly bounce back after set-back.

Responsibilities

Operate sales engagement from “cradle to grave”

Manage own workflow, to ensure relationship building is main focus

Book own meetings to develop pipeline business – targeting large Mid-market to large Enterprise

organisations

Adhere to company best practice, using methodical and structured sales engagement

Reach and exceed individual sales targets

Work with Sales & Marketing Management in support of key metrics and objectives

Work with the Success Team to deliver an exceptional customer experience

Liaise with the Services Team to maintain visibility over customer account activity

Convert technical product messaging into call scripts and position content accordingly

Use LinkedIn and other social media tools to network and prospect

Fastidiously update the CRM with your activities

Own associated sales admin

Identify and profile prospective customers

Manage a forecast and pipeline

What We Ask of You

Based from the Farnborough office, you’ll spend some of your time visiting customers.

Occasionally you may have to travel long distances throughout the UK; this might involve overnight stays

Professionally represent at all times

Learn about products/services and keep up to date with changes

A commitment to continuous self-improvement and ongoing learning

High level of personal appearance, presenting a professional and business-like image at all times

Unquestionable professional and personal integrity

Pre-Requisites

In depth understanding of the Cyber Security marketplace (preferred)

Minimum 3 years sales experience involving complex ‘solution’ sales

Evidence of a flexible, ‘can do’ attitude to maximize personal contribution to the role

Strong telephone and presentation skills

Self-motivated with a strong desire to win

Skills

Full driving licence

Must be comfortable in all aspects of ‘new business hunting’

Able to learn new technologies quickly

Strong commercial awareness & experience

Work well under pressure and multi-task whilst retaining exceptional attention to detail

A critical thinker with an ability to troubleshoot & problem solve

Able to understand and navigate customer hierarchy, maintaining good relationships with key stakeholders

Excellent listening skills and interpretation skills to understand exactly what customers require

Strong time management thriving in a multi-task environment with ability to reprioritise on the fly

Good team player willing to share information and foster a positive team environment

Organised, structured and efficient underpinned by good planning

Strong commitment to customer success and engagement

Ability to manage / build relationships with C-suite

Confident at negotiating with an ability to influence outcomes at different levels of the business

Flexible with an ability to manage multiple demands and cope with changing priorities

Embracing of change and new ideas
