Are you an Infrastructure Engineer looking for a new challenge in the exciting division of Blue Light Services?

Role Profile

Within the role of Infrastructure Engineer you will be responsible for both the design, development and implementation of short- and long-term solutions to information technology (IT) needs through new and existing applications, systems architecture, network systems, infrastructure and the management of the IT infrastructure within East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS).

Working within the telent team located on customer premises, you will be the direct contact between ESFRS and telent to help support a Technical Design Authority Function, discussing future strategies and projects and best options to ensure all technical understanding is agreed before proceeding to pre-sales.

Typical Deliverables

Provide a technical intrerface into the customers Lead Technical Architect to focus on technical direction and strategy.

You will support Projects in to production relating to Infrastructure and Applications. This will include;

Architectural Design

Project Documentation

Support Proposal Documentation

Implemententation Within this role you will support the Lead Infrastructure Engineer in supporting the maintenance of up to date documentation of the ESFRS infrastructure to include;

Datacentre environment design

Backups - Firmware, Configs and Data



Infrastructure Life cycle management

Asset Management

Support Documentation

Capacity planningYou will support the Service Delivery into the customer including interfacing into 3rd line engineers in diagnosis of Infrastructure and Application related faults and resolutions as well as providing the bridge between telent technical / projects / presales and ESFRS.


To be successful in the role you will have experience of;

Managing complex infrastructure environments

Experience of general technical project delivery and understanding of architectural processes and procedures in line with best practise.

Ability to create detailed documentation and designs for support and proposals

IT supporting systems and Infrastructure

Working to tight Service Levels expected when working in Emergency Services

Designing, building and supporting Virtual Servers, networks, system integration

High quality documentation and design skills to ensure the library of architecture artifacts are kept current

Microsoft Office 365, deployment and management experience

Microsoft Sharepoint, design, deployement and management experience

Microsoft Exchange management experience.Behavioural Requirements

Professional with skills in working with Senior stakeholders both in telent and ESFRS

Strive to improve the service delivered by telent in to ESFRS

Building strong relationships with key stateholders and suppliers
