Provide full Commercial and Sales Support in International Environment
My client is a specialist manufacturer of modular fabricated products to a worldwide market. They
are part of a £200 million pa US owned engineering group based in the UK, US & Australia.
they are looking for a Commercial Manager to provide full Commercial and Sales Support
within the Commercial Department on International Tenders and Quotes.
*Responsible for the review of client enquiry requirements defined by the Customer Enquiry or Sales Manager
*Manage Enquiries from receipt through business process to generate a high-quality proposal, tender return or
budgetary submission. Either through the Sales Team or direct to Customer Interface.
*Responsible for managing and leading the Major Projects tender opportunities through tollgate approval process
according to business guidelines.
*Responsible for the completion of full Customer Contract Terms & Conditions Commercial reviews in line
with the standard business operation practices and the company DOA matrix of approvals.
*Responsible for the negotiation of Customer Contract Terms & Conditions including payment terms and currency
in line with the company DOA matrix of approvals.
*Responsible for managing the interface with all relevant business functions, to produce a full risk review as part
of the tender evaluation process.
*Manage the interface both internally and externally for the gathering and submission of all Clarifications,
*Qualifications and Exceptions within the tender cycle.
*Responsible for managing the Major Projects tollgate process from enquiry bid/no bid through to bid to win
*Working closely with the Sales Manager and Leadership Team for business approvals.
*Present Major Projects deal reviews to the Executive Team and wider audience as necessary to obtain all approvals
necessary to submit the Tender.
*Work closely with Sales Managers and the Head of Commercial, to organise suggestive price strategy,
pricing structures and customer strategy, as well as full cost estimation models associated with Quotations and
*Prepare all offers in accordance with standard company practices and procedures, utilising the proposal templates
standardised within the business.
*Ensure that all business is carried out ethically and complies with the company's Business Ethics and Conduct
Policy at all times.
*Work within the operational team in the continuous development of commercial work instructions, processes and
procedures as required by the Head of Commercial. Ensure these procedures are adhered to in the daily activities.
The ideal candidate would have experience in the manufacturing or construction service industry. Specifically, the ideal candidate will have:
*Degree educated or equivalent experienced professional considered.
*Significant relevant knowledge developed in a Commercial Export Environment or a similar role.
*Experience in Contractual terms review and negotiations is a distinct advantage.
*Ability to present to the highest levels in an organisation is desirable, especially for Commercial tender reviews.
*Excellent IT skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook and CRM experience) are also required.
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, attention to detail is critical.
*Fluent in additional language such as Spanish, French or Portuguese would be beneficial, both verbal and written skills.
*Previous experience developing offers for clients in a bridge or civil engineering related discipline would be advantageous.
*A strong Commercial acumen and the aptitude to grasp/understand the technical (engineering) aspects of our products.
*Excellent knowledge of export processes, latest Incoterms, Letter of Credit, payment terms would be beneficial.
*Previous experience with UK NEC3 contract conditions and non-UK public procurement processes would be advantageous.
