Job Description:

As a 'Para-Planner' you will be responsible for the delivery and ongoing maintenance of financial services Para-Planning duties and business development support which provide front line services to the clients, advisers and senior management.

You will report directly to the 'Para-Planning Team Leader' and your day-to-day duties will be to deliver accurate and comprehensive research, analysis and suitability report construction which will demonstrate a care for consumers and respect for the regulatory obligations of the firm.

The role will require you to work on your own initiative but also as part of Para-Planning and the wider team where you should demonstrate personal responsibility, accuracy in the execution of your duties and an overarching integrity as befitting this important role.

Roles & Responsibilities:

First line telephone communication with advisers, scheme administrators and trustees

Carry out detailed research and analysis in support of product/provider suitability

Undertake client portfolio research and provide comparative analysis to advisers

Liaise with providers by telephone/correspondence in relation to new and existing business

Scan and record client files to the back-office system in line with business standards

Administer and generate business related correspondence to clients, product providers etc.

Manage workflow and diary entries to an efficient standard, in line with expectations

Liaise with advisers and other staff members in respect of business and client related issues

Provide typing support to senior managers and other regulated associates

Maintain business records and ensure regular back up of data to protect business integrity

Update and maintain standing data e.g. schedules, templates

Construct and draft suitability letters on behalf of advisers

Handle regulated duties in line with the business and regulatory requirements

Maintain knowledge of business and regulated requirements

Provide regular feedback to senior management in respect of the Para-Planning function

Carry out peer reviews and quality control in line with company standards

Maintain professional, smart business dress, appropriate to the organisation

Ensure punctuality and time keeping in line with your contract of employment

Any other duties as requested by senior management

Skills & Qualifications:

Word Processing and use of Microsoft Office suite

Good numeracy skills and the ability to interpret data

Good standard of written & verbal communication

Effective team player

Strong communication and listening skills

Ability to manage own workload and be self-motivated

Sound time management

A respect for client confidentiality and an adherence to strict codes of professional conduct

Back office and database managementKnowledge Requirements:

Maintain knowledge of FCA rules pertaining to the advice process

Maintain working knowledge of compliance responsibilities

Maintain knowledge of the current market place

Maintain knowledge of Regulatory areas e.g. Data Protection
