Sable & Proctor are looking for an exceptional Head of Sales to lead and deliver growth on behalf of a VC backed company. Based from their head quarters in West Yorkshire, our client delivers all their services, from initial concept to the finished product.
They are looking to recruit an exceptional sales leader to help them achieve their ambitious growth plans across their chosen sectors.
About our client:
The business currently operates in the Equestrian market, manufacturing and supplying portable water heaters to private horse owners and larger scale trainers through specialist retailers and ‘direct to consumer’ through their website. The main plan is to continue to expand distribution in the equestrian market whilst opening high value new sectors. The markets considered to be the strongest opportunities are Horticulture and Plumbing;
*Horticulture – product solutions can offer year-round heating beneath the soil for growers, retail growers and larger scale operations. Likely key customers will be DIY Multiple Retailers (‘Sheds’) and Garden Centre Chains.
*Plumbing – Landlords of multiple occupancy properties now have a legal obligation to supply hot water and must act within a reasonable time if the hot water supply is cut off, or face severe fines of up to £30k. Our clients product can connect to the main water supply and provide hot water instantly. Key customers will be Plumbers Merchants and larger Facility Management companies.
What you’ll be doing:
The primary objective for the successful candidate will be to engage key decision makers in high value customers in these markets to build sales and gross margin contribution for the business as well as managing the current sales team.
The success of the product has mainly resulted from the work done by other BDM’s in the North and our client is now looking for a HoS who can help with both the strategic and operational side.
You will be responsible for the following:
-Identifying and targeting equine, animal, or pet related end users across the UK with the other BDM’s.
-Manage the small team - You will be required to assist the staff in planning, organising and ultimately achieving sales targets.
-As an hands-on manager you will also be expected to find new business and attend meetings with potential suppliers when necessary.
-Solution sales experience – for key target customers our client are a new supplier presenting a new product, buyers will need to be educated and engaged about the value of the proposition.
-Produce weekly report to highlight the sales team’s findings and figures.
What our client is looking for:
-Relevant customer understanding is essential - plumbing merchants, facilities companies and/or gardens centres/DIY stores.
-You must be able to autonomously develop a successful sales pipeline.
-Experience of new product development and launching new products to relevant customers.
-Able to communicate and present to a variety of customer types … from Trade Counters through to Board Rooms.
-Collaborative worker – positive, straightforward and constructive board involvement.
-Motivated to succeed and improve the exposure of the product, able to self-manage and self-generate leads.
·Basic starting salary of between £50k and £55k pa.
