Operations Manager

Working for a growing company based in Coventry. Our client is the market leader in bespoke interior trim for the automotive, aerospace and rail industries.

Key responsibilities

As an operations manager the key business priorities and accountabilities of the position will be to:

Support our client in production planning and making sure the business is adequately resourced.

Grow the efficiency of existing organizational processes and procedures to enhance and sustain the organization’s internal capacity.

Identify any skills gaps in the operations team, track staffing requirements and undertake a recruitment programme to support hiring new employees as needed.

Train supervisors and operators to ensure that everyone is performing adequately in their role.

Providing a leadership support function to teams and motivating staff to achieve production goals.

Managing budgets and costs effectively in respect of the planning process.

Acting as a liaison to GM to keeping them up to date with shop floor matters.

Ensuring key performance indicators are in place and production targets are met.

Communicate customer issues with operations team and devise ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints

Work closely with the inventory manager and team to perform analysis of our inventory and ensure we are utilizing our inventory effectively, purchasing the right materials/stock, maintaining solid inventory data.

Analyze process workflow, employee and space requirements and equipment layout; implement changes accordingly.

Responsible for the production and planning of daily operations

Plans, schedules, and reviews workload and manpower to make sure targets are being met on a cost-effective basis

Manage timely data collection to update operations metrics to achieve productivity targets, reduce cost per unit, eliminate errors, and deliver excellent customer service

Oversee materials and inventory management.

The ideal candidate

Will have previous operations experience ideally within the automotive, aviation or rail industry.
