Unix DevOps Engineer

As a Unix DevOps Engineer, you will work as part of a team of highly technical professionals who design, deliver and support NetApp's Unix/Linux environment. You will utilize your technical background and related experience to help contribute to the department's vision for advancing NetApp's infrastructure as code (IaC). To be successful, you will need a strong technical orientation, be a creative problem solver, have excellent customer service skills, and work well in a team-oriented environment.
The Unix DevOps Engineer will work as part of the Unix Engineering team providing support for the Unix/Linux based Servers in the Corporate datacenters.
Your specific areas of responsibilities include:
Use Ansible to automate the configuration of Unix/Linux Servers in the environment.
Use Scripting languages like Python and Bash to automate tasks and gather data.
Provide support for various operating systems such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Provide support for various services in the environment such as DNS, DHCP, NTP, LDAP, and SMTP.
Ability to troubleshoot performance issues on systems and make recommendations where necessary to improve server configurations.
Create and update process documentation.
Advanced knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (experience with Oracle Solaris is a plus)
Strong Knowledge using configuration management tools (Ansible) at scale.
Expert skills with Git administration, experience designing git-based workflows (GitFlow/Feature Branching) and Hooks creation
Knowledge of extending Infrastructure as Code (IaC) approach to Infrastructure
Expert knowledge of and experience building automation around patching and operational readiness for Linux systems and applications
Knowledge of networking and storage protocols.
Strong oral and written communication skills; including the ability to write technical documentation.
Ability to work collaboratively with various teams, as well as the ability to work independently.
Ability to handle multiple complex tasks, with tight deadlines.
Ability to adhere to policies, procedures, and standards relating to systems management.
Ability to work a 24x7 on-call rotation schedule. (Only during Priority1 break-fix situations)
Typically requires a minimum of 7-10 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
