Wayfair s European Headquarters in Berlin is looking for a talented Localization Manager to join our Language Solutions team to help us localise storefront, product catalogue and other internal and external tools for our international markets! We are the largest online retailer of home furnishings and housewares in the United States and we re ready to replicate this success in the British and European markets. Our websites are currently available in English (USA, CAN, UK), French (CAN) and German (DE) and the goal of the team is to provide high quality translations while managing for costs and turnaround time. This is a great opportunity to directly impact the development of our international business and to make sure that our customers have the best shopping experience possible - no matter what language they use.

What You ll Do:

  • You will be responsible for leading one of the country teams (likely more in the future) covering Wayfair s localization needs, reporting into the Senior Localization Manager
  • Together with your team, drive the analysis of your work and identify the best way to translate our products to be able to balance out cost, speed and quality. For this you will need to be comfortable with making hypotheses, going through large sets of data and drawing conclusions
  • Define team s priorities and tasks for the next quarter (roadmap and tech planning)
  • Develop and implement best-in-class translation processes in collaboration with the respective Wayfair teams (Engineering, UI, PR, etc. )
  • Build strong relationships with multiple key stakeholders across the company, ranging from UI teams, to our supplier portal and Engineering teams
  • Manage large ad hoc translation requests by actively engaging stakeholders and explaining the requirements for providing high quality translations
  • Track and report the success you and your team are driving by analyzing and reporting on main KPIs (Turnaround time, quality, cost)
  • Coach and support your team members in their daily operations as well as in their career development

What You ll Need:

  • Fluent in English and at least one additional European language
  • Demonstrable experience of leading projects and successfully driving significant results with time, cost, quality outcomes
  • Experience as a Localization manager in a fast paced environment
  • To be comfortable in a data-driven business environment and able to pivot readily based on real-time data
  • Strong analytical skills paired with an affinity to quantitative problem solving
  • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills including experience managing a high-performing team
  • Familiarity with Excel, SQL and CAT-tools (Computer-assisted translation) a plus
  • Interest and experience in different languages or cultures
  • Experience in the Localization industry especially in a fast-paced environment is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (business writing, conversational writing)
