General Manager Sales

We are looking for a leadership, development and execution oriented General Manager. By formulating and managing long term sales plans which are in line with the strategy of the company, it is your main goal to achieve growth of our business. You will be responsible for managing the total Sales department consisting of the Account Management and Sales Support. The Service Unit Central Europe (SUCEN) covers the Benelux, Germany and Poland.

As a member of the Service Unit Management Team we expect that besides your input on strategic sales matters, you also give thoughts on improvement of the performance of the total organisation. You will report to the Service Unit Director. The position will be located in one of the countries listed above. Travelling to different locations within the Service Unit must be expected to be present as a leader and to walk-the-talk.

Your mission

  • Lead the SUCEN Sales organisation through strong team spirit, leading by example, encouragement and respect: about 40 FTE in total divided in Germany, Netherlands, Poland (7 direct reports)
  • Set meaningful targets and expectations to bring clarity and direction as well as helping the sales organisation to break down annual targets to quarterly, monthly and weekly actions
  • Apply a systematic approach to follow-up performance and develop people to build high performing teams
  • Continuous coaching of people to achieve improved performance and capability for the future, challenging people to learn and develop
  • Manage stakeholders by building a network of relationships with customers, influencers and decision makers
  • Leverage growth through enforced use of CRM, data and analytics to learn more about the customers' business context and to develop insights for the team
  • Actively promote new business development

Requirements

  • Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of leading sales teams within industrial environments
  • Customer focused and service minded attitude with a strong commercial drive
  • Cultural sensitivity and experience in leading geographically dispersed teams
  • Excellent communication skills, fluency in written and spoken English
