General Assistant (Fixed Term Contract)

We provide more than 200 million meals a year to our 270-plus customers at some 120 airport locations around the globe.
We are currently looking for General Assistants to join our Food Stores, Dish Wash, Bonded Stores or Production teams on a 6 Month Fixed Term contract. As a General General Assistant, you will work as part of a team across all operational areas within the organisation to complete any tasks assigned to you.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
To follow all operating procedures in the course of your duties to the best of your abilities.
To ensure the work area is kept safe and as clean as possible.
Maintain high standards of quality, hygiene, health and safety in line with customer/company specifications
To ensure that the standards of cleanliness and house-keeping are within the guidelines laid down in the Company procedures.
To report all accidents and take the necessary preventative action.
To be able to communicate effectively both verbally and non-verbally at all levels.
To ensure that relevant entries are made in the diary log and that the log is checked at the beginning of each shift.
To be totally flexible within the role and within the unit departments.
Carry out quality checks with improvement action when required.
Assist in follow-up of Quality Assurance/Health & Safety reports.
To take on any other duties as and when required
SPECIFIC DUTIES BY DEPARTMENT
The receipt, handling and appropriate storage of all incoming goods and coordinating / managing stock.
Sort and assemble bars into flights, working as a team to achieve targets
To check trolley seals and cross check with customs paper work
General washing, sorting, assembling, packing and positioning of the aircraft equipment
Process and strip trolleys and deliver to relevant department
Offloading and sorting equipment/food and ensuring it is delivered to the correct processing area
Calculate frozen meals required per customer/ flight
pick frozen meals,
pack into airline ovens.
Conduct product date checks, ensure correct FIFO stock rotation.
Follow procedures in place (i.e. manual handling, trolley moving etc.) making for safe and hygienic workplace
Pack food liners in accordance with written specification
From specification, accurately make up sample and product for all classes
Conduct temperature, quality, and product date checks
Seal flight canisters, trolleys and record numbers
Ensure correct marshaling of flights to Dispatch bays in assigned stowing order
Qualifications and Experience:
Good standard of English both written and verbal
Working knowledge of Basic Hygiene
Ideally some experience in a production/manufacturing/stores environment
Experience of working in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.
Skills & Knowledge:
Good understanding of English both reading and writing

All candidates will need to undergo and successfully complete a 5-year referencing process and CRC/DBS check in line with regulatory compliance requirements.
Salary: Euro 10.03/Hour plus 10% Shift pay, Overtime paid if applicable
Shift patterns: 5 days On, 2 days Off, Rotating week early - week late
Shift Times: Summer morning shift starts vary from 05.30am and 9.00am, Some departments may have afternoon shifts starting between 1300 and 1400
