An established and globally recognised specialist contractor is currently actively recruiting for a Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their specialist data centre construction team to work on complex and challenging projects in Dublin.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to further their career by working in the rapidly expanding data centre construction sector - this is a sector which has seen huge growth in recent years and shows no signs of slowing that growth in the foreseeable future.

This contractor is one of the largest in Ireland and invests very heavily in training and education. They're open on the experience that any Assistant Quantity Surveyor has coming into the company, but will offer you training not only on the general build side, but also in M&E / MEP.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Assistant Quantity Surveyor

The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will have the following Responsibilities:

To provide full support to Construction Team on all Quantity Surveying and Contract Administration functions including, but not limited to the following:

Review and understanding project contract documentation
Preparing and analysing supplier and sub-contractor enquiries
Preparation and issuing of contract documents to our supply chain
Monitoring change in our scope of work and pricing of variations
Preparing and agreeing Monthly progress applications
Financial and contractual control of sub-contractor accounts
Issuing of contractual notices and evaluate loss and expense/acceleration claims
Providing fast, accurate, competitive and profitable estimates
Preparation of monthly commercial project reports
Provide Data and analysis of issues & risks as required by Management
Managing and forecasting of project Cash flows
Liaising with the client, main contractor and other departmentsRequirements of the Assistant Quantity Surveyor

The following will be expected of the Assistant Quantity Surveyor:

Academically (Degree) qualified in either Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
Ideally 2+ years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role, but will entertain any Junior Quantity Surveyor with 1+ years of experience
Mechanical and/or Electrical experience preferred, but not required
Experience working on a high-tech, heavy M&E, or other fast-paced construction project including data centres, pharmaceutical, heavy industrial, semiconductor, hospitals, etc.
SAP & Microsoft Office advanced user skills advantage
Excellent Analytical and problem-solving skills
