DR Power Equipment's South Burlington, Vermont office is seeking a Director, Sales to join us in our beautiful new location overlooking Vermont's Green Mountains. You will be joining us at an exciting time in our history as we grow into new markets and create innovative new products.
Our Director, Sales is responsible for leading and directing the business to business sales team to achieve short and long-range strategic objectives through successful planning and execution of sales strategies for the Outdoor Power Equipment (OPE) channel. This role is responsible for the entire range of sales planning and development, sales promotion, and sales activities. This role also drives market/field/end user input back to the organization to improve positioning with programs, product development, and end user support.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Selects, coaches and develops the team, setting objectives that align with company strategy to inspire and motivate the team.
Manages organizational talent through performance management, succession planning and development.
Designs and directs processes by which team and individual performance are recognized, feedback is consistently delivered and performance is systematically improved.
Drives the market/field/end user input back to the Generac organization to improve positioning with programs, product development and end user support.
Establishes and implements short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
Achieves margin objectives, by providing input on pricing strategy for all products and markets with the goal of achieving margin objectives established.
Tracks specific customer profitability, promotional allowances and terms to meet the company's objectives.
Grows sales of existing and new products through strengthened account relationships, including penetration into customers' management and executive levels.
Works with Marketing teams to integrate the market development strategies into overall marketing and branding strategies and activities.
Minimal Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years of experience leading sales teams
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of the dynamics between distribution and the sCompanyequent end user.
Proven success in developing and fostering business relationships within distributors.

Proven business planning, budgeting, and P&L skills
Ability to work independently in an entrepreneurial culture
