The Director, Product Marketing will help build and execute Marchex's product marketing strategy, including overall positioning and messaging for our Analytics and Marketplace products and solutions, leading the product marketing team in the creation and execution of sales enablement tools, competitive positioning, partnering with Demand Generation on key marketing deliverables, driving customer advocacy, and partnering with our data sciences team to drive insight from the wealth of information we collect from our clients. This role will be responsible for managing a team of product and content marketing managers as well as analysts from the Marchex Institute.

This job will have a direct impact on our ability to execute our sales and marketing vision for the conversational intelligence space. This role will lead a team of marketers to develop and drive an inspirational and differentiated message to the marketplace and prospects and create a compelling reason to purchase our solutions for new and current customers.

Team

The Marketing team delivers both internal and external communications on how Marchex helps business succeed with conversations. The Marketing group keeps our leadership teams informed of market trends, and creates programs and initiatives that keep us ahead of the curve and drive the industry. They touch all of our potential and current clients, and help us reach the right audiences at the right times to help drive more adoption of all of the Marchex product lines.

Outline of Duties and Responsibilities
Lead and build a high performance product marketing team that leads our organization in achieving our revenue goals for our product and solution offerings
As Marchex's chief storyteller, lead the product marketing team in identifying target audiences, their key business problems and pain points, articulating the Marchex value proposition and key business outcomes and benefits
Develop product go-to-market plans for Marchex and our portfolio of solutions that aligns with our revenue strategy and marketing assets, including launch strategies, bills of materials and execution plans for Marchex product launches and announcements
Lead our Marchex Institute data analysis and consumer behavior team in working with our customers and industry specialists to demonstrate the value our solutions provide, as well as to unearth new trends and insights for our customers and the marketplace
Lead sales enablement efforts, developing and delivering sales tools, content, support and training that keeps our sales team in a position to efficiently drive sales
Help socialize and evangelize messaging consistency for Marchex products and change perception of our solutions at scale through Marchex and industry events, Internet presence, analyst relations, and direct customer engagement
As the team with expertise in our products' sales cycle, partner with our product, engineering and sales teams to facilitate feedback and drive continuous improvement of the product positioning, benefits to our customers, and sales enablement tools
Stay on top of market trends and competitors and partner with product, engineering and sales teams to ensure our value prop is the most differentiated across our key competitors
Coach, mentor, and manage our talented product marketers, content marketers and data sciences team in the Marchex Institute
Support the Guiding Principles and vision of the company and the team through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors
Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested

Experience, Skills and Qualifications
BA/BS degree in related field or equivalent experience, MBA a plus
8-10 years as a product marketing manager and 4-5 years as a marketing leader
Demonstrable and proven product marketing knowledge in a relevant B2B market. Demonstrated success in launching new SaaS enterprise products and enabling sales to gain competitive differentiation with your product set in the marketplace
Track record of building and leading successful and resourceful teams
Super competitive and driven to find a way to be successful
Results-driven in winning outsized share of wallet with our customers vs. the competition
Experience building and managing effective customer advocacy and evidence programs, working with customers to capture, highlight and promote business value to equip the sales team and inform prospects
Experience in working in digital environments to rapidly test and iterate messaging and key value propositions to drive digital engagement, downloads, and qualified leads to the sales team
Data-driven, with a history of measuring and optimizing marketing strategies to consistently improve business results and drive revenue
Excellent business judgement; ability to prioritize independently, overcome blockers, create clarity and move forward in dynamic or ambiguous circumstances
Ability to explain key end-user scenarios and product architecture and to proactively and quickly learn new products and technologies
Excellent storytelling, verbal and written communication skills
Experience in leading discussions with the product and engineering team here at Marchex and to outside audiences at conferences and to key industry analysts
Strong project management, leadership, management and cross-group collaboration skills are critical to your success in this position; proven success in leading teams to meet deadlines and see projects through to completion
A profound sense of ownership and accountability is absolutely required alongside the ability to influence, inspire large and sometimes skeptical audiences
Experience with enterprise customers and building and delivering product demonstrations and speaking at events and conferences is a big plus
