Director, Multicultural Marketing

The Director, Multicultural Marketing is responsible for driving and implementing strategic marketing initiatives that engage specific populations including African American and Hispanic women and those in the breast cancer or medical communities who support and serve them. This leader will leverage his/her expertise in multicultural marketing, brand management, public relations and media management, and digital, social and community engagement. This role will collaborate with local Komen affiliates and partners while also work in close partnership with a cross-functional team within Komen's marketing, mission and development departments to define, develop and execute multicultural outreach and messaging via Susan G. Komen's brand and B2B and B2C
The successful candidate will be a seasoned professional with demonstrated accomplishments holding similar positions responsible for multicultural brand management and marketing, with a focus on developing compelling messages, identifying appropriate channels to reach target audiences, growing audience following, and driving actions that align with program KPIs. In addition to defining strategy, this role oversees the execution of programs required to attract and engage new and existing supporters,
reach/exceed audience and financial goals and manage marketing P&L associated with multicultural programs. He or she should be motivated to enhance the world's leading breast cancer brand, Susan G. Komen.
As the Director, Multicultural Marketing, you employ a variety of strategic and operational skill to establish and drive successful
Partner with Mission on specific African American and Hispanic programs (ie 11 cities initiatives, landscape analysis research
results messaging, outreach about health equity programming, educational and advocacy programs, coordination and collaboration with community organizational and associations.)
Develop and execute African American and Hispanic marketing campaigns, communication strategies, messaging calendars to
acquire new customer relationships and engage the community.
Identify and develop new marketing partnerships with organizations, events, influencers, and experts to extend Komen's reach
within targeted communities.
Monitor, report, understand and optimize plans and programs based on defined success metrics.
Partner with Development in supporting new and existing business development to acquire funding for community-specific
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Have a knowledge and demonstrated experience in the following areas:
Partnership: Ability to work with subject matter experts within Komen's Mission team, understand complex breast cancer terminology and concepts, uphold the rigor and evidence base on which messages must stand, align with mission goals and objectives.
Multicultural Marketing: Practiced experience and understanding of marketing and messaging to specific cultural audience groups, developing messaging and marketing programs to communicate authentically and effectually, engage and involve communities, and listen and learn to build strong trust-based relationships.
Strategy: Ability to develop, communicate, and lead a marketing strategy and associated campaigns to reach and engage specific audiences, considering the methods, approaches, channels, tools and resources needed to effectively achieve defined program goals.
Strong Communicator: Ability to translate strategy and plans to effectively coordinate with partners, vendors and key stakeholders, to assure programs run smoothly and effectively.
Leadership: results-oriented leader that builds high-performing teams and effectively manages vendors, delivering brand communications via digital and direct to consumer marketing campaigns
Experience working with a variety of marketing channels and platforms (public relations, advertising, community partnerships,
social and digital)
Command of content, statistics, and coherent talking points coupled with polished presentation skills to address large groups, guide
media conversations and participate in media interviews.
Intellectual curiosity. Optimistic about future possibilities and a catalyst for change.
Strong collaboration and partnership skills. Ability to effectively influence stakeholders and gain consensus at all levels of the organization.
Solid understanding of marketing and digital analytics, and ability to generate, analyze and interpret data.
Strong and effective creative project management and ability to lead and direct outside resources.
Ability to manage multiple projects on various levels with different and converging timelines.
Minimum of 5-7 years of multicultural marketing or brand management with responsibility for developing and executing core
messaging platform, identify PR opportunities and as needed, acting as spokesperson; community marketing and digital
media planning and engagement strategies required to effectively perform the job's responsibilities.
Minimum of Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, business, or related field.
