The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs; ) is a national information clearinghouse and resource center providing investigative and forensic support to missing, unidentified, and unclaimed person cases. Fully-funded by the National Institute of Justice and managed through a cooperative agreement with the University of North Texas Center for Human Identification, all NamUs services and resources are provided at no cost.
Responsible for managing the marketing, messaging, branding and communications activities of NamUs, to include leadership of communications staff, building and sustaining communications strategies, managing and protecting the brand of NamUs, and guiding internal and external communication activities. Proactively engage with national media networks to enhance NamUs visibility and ensure messaging and program related information is properly reported.
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field. Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience developing, implementing, and monitoring marketing and/or communications strategies
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Preference will be given to candidates with leadership experience, to include developing marketing/communications strategies, providing leadership to staff, and developing, monitoring, and forecasting program budgets. Preference will also be given to candidates who possess national experience creating press releases, news articles, newsletter content, and/or other marketing/communications materials.
