My client is a is an independent body, that regulates party and election finance and sets standards for how elections should be run. Due to project growth they are currently recruiting a Project Manager to focus on Accounting Systems
To lead high-risk finance project and effectively engage with our key audiences and ensure that the process is efficient, cost-effective, and takes into account the needs of all stakeholders.
*To scope, coordinate, project manage and deliver a high risk finance project - review and replace my clients GL system against agreed milestones and budgets.
*Liaise with various stakeholders to determine the different requirements of the system, and to understand how any changes will impact the wider business.
*Lead the integration process and implement, develop processes and finalise
the implementation; ensuring the system reconciles to the current general ledger.
*Ensure any new processes/systems are compliant with financial regulations and delegations and with the requirements set out in Managing Public Money.
*Be responsible for testing and implementing the necessary changes to the system, working alongside an IT where necessary.
The post-holder is responsible for making all day to day decisions about the effective running of the GL system. When approval is required (eg for changes to process or requesting additional budget) the post-holder is expected to present and recommend solutions to the Head of Finance and Procurement. The post-holder is expected to keep relevant colleagues updated on progress against delivery, but otherwise to manage the scoping and delivery of the project with minimal support.
Substantial experience in cloud based system implementation within a small company.
Experience in dealing with key stakeholders and taking ownership of projects and implementing change
Experience across a range of roles including financial accounting, financial management and reporting.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Well-developed decision making skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgement, prioritise and balance competing demands.
Experience with Open Accounts/eBis (current system)
This role will be initially home based with occasional travel to the office
