Senior Backend Consultant

You will: work with a team to deliver in all phases of the SDLC, including planning, requirement analysis, designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining application code in a variety of contexts; design architecture for data processing and data access tools such as the Monte Carlo risk assessment simulation; define technical, operational, and user requirements; create conceptual architecture and solution design materials; develop the solution against the design; develop and implement appropriate QC and testing procedures; partner w/cross-functional technology teams to integrate solutions and requirements solution strategies, including coordinating w/leveraging offshore resources; and contribute in a limited fashion to project management activities. The position is based in Raleigh, NC and requires domestic, overnight travel approximately 80% of the time. However, as the individual spends 20% of his/her time working in Raleigh, NC, s/he must live w/in commuting distance of Raleigh, NC.
The position requires at least a bachelor's degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems Engineering, or a closely related field, plus at least five (5) years of post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered, as a software Developer, or in a similar IT role. The qualified applicant's experience must include the following: 5 years of experience designing and building enterprise systems and component-based architecture utilizing Microsoft .NET and C#, as well as relational and non-relational databases (Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB); 5 years of experience participating in full Software Development Life Cycle within an agile project management methodology; 2 years of experience participating in work stream planning process, including: inception, technical design, development, testing, and delivery of Microsoft solutions; and 2 years of experience providing pre-sales support, including requirements gathering, effort estimation, resource forecasting, workforce planning, delivery forecasting, and costing analysis for initial engagement efforts with respect to a technical client service opportunity.
