VTG is seeking a Director of Aerospace Programs located in Patuxent River, MD to be responsible for new business growth within the Defense aerospace market, with a focus on the U.S. Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) and its subordinate and supporting offices and commands. The capture manager will be responsible for managing the full capture lifecycle, sometimes across multiple simultaneous competitive pursuits, in the areas of systems engineering, program management, integrated logistics support, training, and operational support for rotary and fixed-wing aviation platforms, both manned and unmanned. He/she must be a highly motivated self-starter, self-directed, and detail oriented. Furthermore, he/she must possess a solid foundation of relevant knowledge of the aforementioned markets and customers, and associated programs, technologies, industry partners, and competitors; as well as demonstrate practical experience building diverse industry teaming partnerships and successfully managing and winning large-scale Federal Government multiple-award ID/IQ and single-award capture efforts.

Proactively identifying and qualifying new business opportunities that align with VT Group's growth strategy; and moving selected opportunities through the business development, capture, and proposal processes;
Developing and maintaining existing and prospective customer relationships within the Defense aerospace market, with a focus on NAVAIR and its subordinate and supporting offices and commands;
Performing internal, customer, program, and competitor assessments; gaining a clear understanding of customer needs, programs, budgets, issues, constraints, and hot buttons; assessing strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT); and determining critical gaps and discriminators;
Developing and implementing winning capture strategies and associated marketing plans; developing and managing capture and B&P budgets; and leading and facilitating win strategy development sessions and other milestone reviews;
Overseeing and actively participating in the proposal management process; collaborating with operating division leaders, program managers, solutions architects, and technical experts, as well as proposal, pricing, and contracts personnel to develop management, technical, and staffing solutions that offer customers recognized value, are price competitive and executable, and will be evaluated favorably;
Supporting Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and sales forecasting for the company.
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or equivalent (Master's Degree preferred);
8-10 years of capture and proposal experience in Federal Government Contracting with a focus on the Defense aerospace market, and more specifically NAVAIR requirements and contract opportunities; and current contacts with NAVAIR and the naval aviation community, including key decision makers, influencers, and partners;
Understanding of Defense Department program management, budgeting, acquisition, and procurement processes;
Demonstrated working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR); and demonstrated understanding of all contract types (eg, multiple award ID/IQ, single-award, etc.) and payment types (eg, FFP, T&M, and cost reimbursable);
Demonstrated expertise in understanding, managing, and leveraging the Shipley or a similar sales management process for Federal Government Contracting opportunities;
Excellent interpersonal skills; thorough, clear, and timely communications; and ability to influence and persuade to achieve desired outcomes;
Attention to detail and superior time management and organizational skills;
Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as exemplary presentation skills;
Ability to obtain and maintain a clearance at the TOP SECRET level;
Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
