Under the direction of the Vice President of Patient Care Services, the Clinical Nursing Director is responsible to ensure quality patient care while improving patient safety and medical error reduction that meets the quality and financial targets of the hospital and inpatient nursing department.
The Clinical Nursing Director has oversight for 24/7 clinical operations within the Methodist Hospital Emergency Center in partnership with Emergency Medicine Medical Director. Responsible for overall strategic, financial, and operational success, including ensuring the Emergency Center continues to meet Trauma, Comprehensive Stroke, and STEMI accreditation standards. Responsible for maintaining external connections with key Emergency Medical Services and community resources.
Accountable for strategic, financial and operational success of assigned patient care areas and programs.
Develops a culture of continual improvement in quality and patient safety, seeking excellence in patient outcomes and minimizing hazards and harm that may result from the processes of care.
Ensures that the right resources are in place to meet patient care needs and access to services.
Collaborates with appropriate departments and disciplines in ensuring the safest patient care and experience for patients and families.
In addition, identifies areas and ensures that practice is consistent with internal and external policies, regulatory agencies, best practice quality standards and Park Nicollet contracts.
RN degree with Master's Degree in Health or Business Related Field required.
5 years relevant clinical, management and/or progressive leadership experience, preferably in an acute care hospital setting.
Advanced nursing administration certification preferred (NEA-BC).
Quality Improvement Experience
1. Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Minnesota
2. Member of a professional organization either in nursing specialty or nursing leadership
