The Nursing Director has overall responsibility for BSHC's clinical assessment and eligibility and comprehensive screening model services. This position requires cross-functional collaboration with other program leadership to promote communication, innovation, employee engagement, knowledge sharing, organizational and team spirit. The Nursing Director must be a leader who is able to help his/her staff reach their program goals and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities also include developing and implementing policies and strategies to improve current services as well as developing and managing a supportive quality assurance program. Develop and maintain systems for tracking strategic planning implementation. Provide thought leadership and guidance to the organization around current health and wellness best practices. This position works closely with the COO on new program development and financial management of the CAE and CSSM programs.
Essential Job functions: Duties ___1___ through ___15__are designated as ADA Essential Functions and must be performed in this job. All other job duties are secondary functions.
Evaluate, develop and implement policies and procedures for existing and new health services programs.
Supervise and evaluate the Client Service Registered Nurses in their Clinical Assessment and Eligibility, Personal Care and Home Health duties and provide feedback.
Serve as the liaison for skilled nursing facility and hospital case managers.
Oversee the Comprehensive Services Screening Model (CSSM) program.
Develop, implement and maintain appropriate policies, procedures and standards of care.
Participates in quality improvement activities of the clinical department as well as agency wide.
Oversee data gathering system for Clinical Assessment and Eligibility, Personal Care, and Home Care monthly statistics and prepare reports as required.
Interpret data and report to appropriate state agency and board committees.
Coordinate and oversee, with program leadership, the process of daily interdisciplinary case review of all State Home Care consumers.
Provide consultation regarding health related client problems to Client Services personnel.
Perform Clinical Assessment and Eligibility Screenings and Personal Care assessments as needed.
Provide consultation and appropriate training regarding nursing facility screenings and Personal Care to provider agency, hospital, and long term care facility staff.
Serve as BSHC liaison and representative with appropriate departments at the Executive Office of Elder Affairs, MassHealth and community agencies through prompt and regular attendance.
Maintain a thorough understanding and ensure compliance of established departmental procedures and agency policies.

This position manages a nurse manager, RN program staff and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within those departments.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a Full time position, Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
This position requires up to 25% travel. Must be able to travel throughout the community under all weather conditions and perform home visits.
REQUIRED/PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Registered Nurse with current Massachusetts license, and a BA or BS in a related field.
Must have at least three years of Full time or equivalent experience as a registered nurse in a community setting and at least five years managerial experience.
