Nurse Manager ICU

Hospital is located in Geneva New York has launched a search to select a new Nurse Manager for its Intensive Care Unit.
Hospital is a general acute care hospital providing both primary care and a full range of secondary level services.
Hospital is affiliated with Finger Lakes Health, a multi-institutional health system that provides a full range of acute and long term care health services to residents of the Finger Lakes region in Upstate New York
Hospital operates 14-bed intensive care unit.

The successful candidate will be a service driven professional nurse leader that has the ability to lead overall operations and assist with the development and implementation of short and long term strategy. He/she will direct the day-to-day functions of the Intensive Care Unit following the current federal and state regulations, as well as, the facility's policies and procedures.
The Nurse Manager has responsibility for ensuring that our customers are provided with high quality, compassionate care and a safe environment.
The candidate must be an innovative thinker who has implemented best practice standards of care, have strong leadership skills, ability to achieve goals, a proven track record of success, and an extensive working knowledge of general operations, human resources, customer service, compliance, quality and safety.
The Nurse Manager will report to the Vice President of Nursing and have regular interaction with other members of the Medical Staff, Management and Administrative Teams.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Minimum: Graduate from an accredited Registered Professional Nurse Program, Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing
Preferred: Master Degree in Nursing

Licensure/Certifications
Current New York State Nursing License is required.
BLS, ACLS, PALS required through the RQI system during clinical orientation. Basic Coronary Care and CCRN within one year of hire.
Experience
Candidate must have at least four (4) years of acute care nursing experience and strong ICU clinical expertise
Candidate must have progressive nursing leadership experience in an acute care hospital environment, preferably in ICU
Candidate must have a demonstrated track record of improving ICU operations. This includes quality, patient safety, productivity, efficiency and customer satisfaction (employee and patient).
Candidate must have experience applying best practices and innovative strategies to improve performance metrics, quality and the customer experience.
Candidate must have experience establishing, building and developing positive relationships with staff and physicians. Must be a highly visible, engaged, take charge leader who has a willingness to coach and mentor.
Candidate must have knowledge and understanding of State, Federal and Joint Commission requirements.
