Python DevOps Engineer at Top Global Bank, UK Remote

A leading Global Investment Bank is looking for a hands-on Python developer/Systems engineer, who is infrastructure aware, to help prepare the next generation SDLC platform.
As the chosen candidate you will be familiar with the principles of automation, and will in addition be familiar with various SCM and build tools. You will form part of the team responsible for modernising and integrating the firms SDLC tooling in order to enable the creation of CICD pipelines, throughout the firm. The environment is globally distributed, and is comprised of endpoints that are both on-prem and in public cloud using SaaS tooling.
Experience working in large teams in a distributed environment is a must, but knowledge of financial services is an advantage but not essential. You will have hands-on development experience in Python. Additional experience with Java, C#, or Typescript would be an asset, as would experience with implementing automation at scale. You will be highly technical and passionate about SDLC tooling and processes. Skills working with multiple SCM systems, code review systems, issue tracking tools, build tools, test frameworks, code quality tools, CI systems, and IDEs would be useful. Desirable prior experience developing tools for build automation, version control (Bitbucket, Github), issue tracking (Jira), continuous integration (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Github Actions), automated testing, or deployment automation. Deployment orchestration experience using Terraform, Ansible or other related technologies.
Possible very occasional travel to offices in EU and UK. Immediate start for a fixed term of six months. The project is UK Remote.
